Fran Terry, President  Fran has extensive banking industry experience in southwest Michigan and is currently the Manager of Country Heritage Credit Union. She is an active member of the Michigan Credit Union League. Her contributions to the Chamber earned her the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. Fran is the current President of the Chamber and the Liaison to the Buchanan City Downtown Development Authority (DDA), Farmer’s Market and other community organizations. Fran is a lifelong resident of Buchanan and enjoys spending time with her daughter exploring all the great places in and around town.


Karol Behrle, Vice President  Karol brings an entrepreneur’s background to her position as the Community Assistant Vice President of Honor Credit Union. Her previous experience includes 25 years as a travel agent and owner of her own business. She earned a degree in Travel & Tourism from Southeastern Academy in Kissimmee, Florida. She is active in many community organizations including Junior Achievement, Berrien Springs-Eau Claire Rotary Club, RESA Advisory Board and the Executive Professional Women’s Association. Raised in Baroda, Karol and her husband reside in Buchanan where they enjoy boating and spending time with their daughter and two German shepherds.


Stacey Dodson, Secretary  Stacey is a dedicated cheerleader for her hometown and brings that energy to her position as Manager of Communication & Brand for Honor Credit Union. Her previous experience includes a decade of teaching at the secondary education level. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Master’s Degree of Education in Curriculum and Design. She lends her talents to many community organizations and is active professionally with the Southwest Chapter of the Michigan Credit Union League and the CUNA Marketing and Business Development Council. Stacey is a lifelong Buchanan Buck raising three little Bucks.


Dorothy MottL, Treasurer  Dorothy is a proven leader, whether bringing new businesses to town or organizing community events that draw people in. She is the owner/broker of D. MottL Realty Group with offices in downtown Buchanan, Dowagiac and PawPaw. Her previous experience includes more than 20 years in Education where she was involved in educational grant writing and presenting/speaking at national conferences. She holds a Master’s in Education Leadership. More than anything, Dorothy enjoys spending time with family (including her four-legged kids) outdoors.


Jerry Flenar  Jerry is a doer. Since retiring from the Compass Group, he has devoted his time to getting things done for the community he loves. He is actively involved in a number of organizations including the Buchanan-Galien Lion's Club, Friends of McCoy Creek Trail, the Buchanan Promise, and the Friends of Oakridge Cemetery. Jerry is the Past President of the Chamber and the recipient of the 2018 Margaret B. Upton Volunteer Leadership Award from the United Way. He enjoys traveling with his wife and friends and spending time with his children and grandchildren.


Ted Chase Ted brings a strong client focus to his position as an Employee Benefits Advisor for Nulty Insurance. He has more than 15 years of health insurance industry experience and has also spent time with a CPA firm. Ted holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Ferris State University and is a licensed life and health producer in Michigan and Indiana. He is active in his community as a member of the Galien fire department. Ted enjoys spending time with his family in the great outdoors.


William Marx As the City Manager/Police Chief for the City of Buchanan, Bill provides a vital link between the City and the Chamber in support of a common vision to make Buchanan the best place to live and play. Previously, Bill served as Chief Deputy of the180-member Berrien County Sheriff’s Department. He is a member of the Buchanan American Legion, Buchanan Moose Lodge, Buchanan-Galien Lions Club and a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 96. He enjoys spending time with family, house boating and fishing.


Sarah Gault  Sarah is all about outreach and community - especially working with children. She has brought that value to her role as Youth Service Coordinator for the Buchanan District Library for the past 10 years. Sarah earned a Bachelor’s degree in Communications & Journalism from Western Michigan University and began her career in non-profit meeting & event planning. She is the president of the Buchanan College Club, a member of the Buchanan-Galien Lions Club, and the Commons Committee. Sarah likes to go to Lake Michigan as much as possible and loves to travel.


Rhonda Harrington Rhonda’s tenacity has served her well in the banking industry. She started her financial career with Edgewater Bank as a teller and worked through the mortgage area until taking on the Buchanan Branch Officer position. She is currently the Compliance Officer at Country Heritage Credit Union. Rhonda volunteers with several non-profit organizations, including Girls on the Run, Buchanan Reading Mentor Program, Relay for Life, and the Miss Buchanan Pageant. She is a member of the Buchanan-Galien Lions Club.


Ralph McDonald Ralph understands what it takes for a small business to succeed. He has owned and operated RMC Quality Construction since 1984. A South Bend native, Ralph relocated to Buchanan where he serves on the Buchanan City DDA and the Planning Commission. Ralph enjoys collecting classic cars, attending car shows and volunteering at the Red Bud Motorcross.


Patrick Swem  Patrick is a fourth generation Buchanan resident going back to his great grandfather, Lowell Swem. He is the Assistant Vice President of Business Development at Honor Credit Union, where he started his commercial banking career as a teller. Patrick attended both community colleges (Southwestern Michigan and Lake Michigan College) before completing Organizational Management studies at Bethel College. Patrick enjoys spending time in his hometown with his wife, young children and two dogs.


Nathan Babcock Nathan is passionate about the issues of mental health, justice for victims of human trafficking, and ministry to students. He is the Senior Minister of Buchanan Christian Church and has served churches in New Hampshire, Indiana, and Illinois. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Great Lakes Christian College and his Master of Divinity degree from the Seminary at Lincoln Christian University. A native of Plymouth, Indiana, Nathan and his family have called Buchanan home since 2012.


Viki Gudas, Executive Director  Viki joined the Chamber as Executive Director in September of 2019. She has extensive experience in non-profit management and marketing and was most recently the President/CEO of the Harbor Country Chamber of Commerce in Three Oaks. She started her career in Chicago where she held management positions with two large medical associations. Viki earned a Bachelor’s degree in English from Loyola University and a Master's in Public Administration from DePaul University. She resides in Union Pier with her husband and two cats and enjoys Sundays on the river in Buchanan.
